Good afternoon, Paddle People!
First, and most importantly, I sincerely apologize for being so incredibly tardy with my regular chapter blogs. This summer has been extraordinarily busy for me in my non-kayaking life making kayaking something of a premium activity. When it has happened, it has been either long-planned or very short notice.
I promise to keep my commitment to you all by being more mindful and intentional with chapter communications going forward. Things at work have stabilized somewhat and predictability is back (for the most part).
For those of you who want to see recent chapter activity, I’ve got a couple YouTube videos for your enjoyment:
Here’s what is on the books right now:
Wonder Warrior Kayaking Event

We will be supporting family day for Wounded Warriors on Saturday, September 9th from 9am-5pm. We will be teaching basic Kayak skills, introducing people to the sport, and playing a rowdy game of Kayak Football on a 245 acre lake in the park. If you’d like to help out, let me know!
KAOS! Small Group Paddle
September 16, 2017 from 1:00-5:00
Lake Williams boat launch (map)
This will be an informal event. Families who have kayaked with us before will be able to get on the water upon arrival. If you have not kayaked with us in the past, we will provide you with basic instruction before sending you out on the water.
Please remember that for these events parents are responsible for their children while on the water. Team River Runner will provide the instruction to both you and your children, which is needed to be safe and have a great time. If you do not feel comfortable on the water you must let me know in advance so that I can make proper arrangements to insure your child can still participate.
Team River Runner will provide the kayaks, paddles and adult life jackets. It is your responsibility to provide child life jackets. Again, if you need assistance with this you must let us know in advance.
Please let us know if you and your family would like to participate no later than Friday, September 15th Address and directions will be posted closer to the event.
One last reminder, please bring SMILES for all members of you
