Easter Seals (a Veterans Serving the Community program) – 8/3/19 – 8/4/19
Easter Seals of Western and Central Pennsylvania has partnered with TRR for several years now to help introduce kids and young adults in their summer camps programs to adaptive water skiing and kayaking on the Susquehanna River. The P.K. Filling Adaptive Water Sports program has been a hallmark VSC program in our chapter and results in huge smiles. Come out and help us show a great group of people the joy of kayaking. No instructor experience necessary. Email me to sign up!

We will be doing a two-three hour seminar for the Canoe Club of Greater Harrisburg during their August meeting at Ft. Hunter Park in Harrisburg from 6:30-8:00. We will gather at the Ft. Hunter Boat Launch (5415 River Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110) beginning around 6:00. We will be demonstrating adaptive kayaks as well as the newest custom built boat (if Devin will let us) for adaptive whitewater. We will do a quick demonstration of “duct tape 101” methods to show club members some of the tenets of adapting boats for specific disabilities. Come on out and take part in the fun!
213th RSG Family Fun Day – 8/8/19
We will be hosting the kayak portion of the 213th Regional Support Group’s Unit Recreation Day (a.k.a. “mandatory fun”) at Memorial Lake near Ft. Indiantown Gap. The 213th RSG has participated in nine major conflicts: the Civil War, War with Spain, World Wars I & II, Korea, Gulf War, Kosovo, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom. Come out and support these warfighters as they take a well-deserved break from intensive training. Email me to sign up!
OuttaSight Guide Leadership Program – 8/20/19 – 8/22/19

The TRR OuttaSight Guide Leadership Program (OGLP) has been developed to train OuttaSight Guides with the skills and knowledge needed to train members of their own chapters to be OuttaSight Guides. It is, in essence, OuttaSight’s Train-the-Trainer program. Paddlers who complete this program will be endorsed as Guide Leaders, provided a certificate of training, and will be expected to train others in guiding principles. We will be hosting this course in Lancaster, PA and will be utilizing a variety of top-notch waterways around the Susquehanna Valley. There is no cost for this training!
SPACE IS LIMITED, so Email me to sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.

Immediately following OGLP, the Second Annual KAOS State Adventure Weekend will be held August 23-25, 2019 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This unique program teaches students who are blind or vision impaired, along with their families, how to safely kayak as a family activity. This weekend adventure is available to any student ages 8-18 years living in Pennsylvania who are blind or vision impaired along with their families. During the 2018 event, a total of 53 participants attended; the weekend was filled with fun, excitement, and millions of smiles! We know that you will have just as much fun this summer.
If you attend OGLP, you will be a primary instructor for this event, getting practical experience while surrounded by some of the most awesome people you will ever meet! Again, SPACE IS LIMITED, so Email me to sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.
That is a lot going on and we will need your help to pull it all off! Check your calendars and see which ones you want to come out for and let us know!
Thanks and keep that paddle in the water!
